B.TECH (AEROSPACE ENGINEERING)

  • PEO I: To create Graduates knowledgeable in fundamentals of Aerospace Engineering with exposure to modern Aerospace Engineering practices.
  • PEO II: To make Graduates skillful in recognizing, analyzing and finding solutions to engineering problems adhering to ethical practices.
  • PEO III: To promote in Graduates an aptitude for lifelong learning.
  • PEO IV : To enable Graduates to apply the acquired engineering knowledge to benefit society.

    The Aerospace Engineering undergraduate curriculum supports the programme’s educational objectives, listed above, through theoretical, experimental and computational courses in basic science, mathematics, and engineering sciences. It is desired that every graduate who is turned out by the programme will exhibit the following characteristics:

    • A. an ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering.
    • B. an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
    • C. an ability to design a system, component, or process to meet the desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, time, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturing and sustainability.
    • D. an ability to function in multi-disciplinary teams.
    • E. an ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems.
    • F. an understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
    • G.an ability to communicate-oral & written-effectively
    • H.the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, environmental, and societal context.
    • I. a recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning.
    • J. a knowledge of contemporary issues.
    • K. an ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.

    M.TECH (AEROSPACE ENGINEERING)

    • PEO I: To contribute to the society Postgraduates with sound knowledge in Aerospace Engineering with specialization in advanced areas of Aerospace Engineering. .
    • PEO II: To prepare Postgraduates with abilities in recognizing, analyzing and finding solutions to engineering problems adhering to ethical practices.
    • PEO III: To promote in Postgraduates an aptitude for lifelong learning and improvisation.
    • PEO IV : To enable Postgraduates to apply the acquired engineering knowledge to benefit society.

      Deepak

      I am Deepak Babu (2009-2013 batch), It is a prestigious moment for me to write about my department. In the beginning I’ve always worried being the first batch of our department. But now I realise, choosing Aerospace Engineering at Karunya Institute of Technology was the best decision I have ever made. It was purely a new experience for me. The life at Karunya was pleasant and conducive. And the campus offered unique and comfortable atmosphere that provided good interaction between the faculties and the students. Placement assistance provided, gave me wide opportunities to choose a good career. Department offered industrial visits and chances for inplant trainings so as to obtain a good industrial experience and to get familiarised with actual work environment. The faculties in the department are well experienced with so much of industrial exposure. They provided support and guidance in organising events at University and National Levels. The department is well equipped with Aerodynamics, Structures and Propulsion labs that are hardly available in other universities. ....

      2Corinthians 12:9 -And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness." The weaker the instrument, the more the power of His grace. One would never know that grace if one wouldn't have the exigencies that call for it. According to the above mentioned promise verse, God did not remove my weaknesses, but He increased His grace so that I could endure it. It was my first experience of being away from home with which came anxiety and apprehensiveness. But God had the best plans for me. The journey went on , one miracle after another, starting from admissions till placements. Looking back at my school days, where I was known to be an introvert, today, God has used me mightily to lead prayers in prayer cells. The faculties were always there to support and encourage me. My talents which always remained hidden till I completed my schooling, were extracted right here in Karunya. Music, art , dance and much more, in such unimaginable ways. Managing academics along with the co-curricular activities is not an easy task. 'Never give up'.... These words would keep ringing in my ears. God was faithful enough to give me a CGPA of 9.3 and SGPA 10. At the right time He graciously enabled me to get placed in Tech Mahindra. Not only that, I got admission in Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, Israel to pursue my MS in Aerospace Engineering with full scholarship for two years. . ...
